Land Acknowledgment

The Lincoln and Welland Band acknowledges that the land on which we gather to practise and perform is the traditional and treaty territory of Indigenous Nations. We recognize the enduring presence and stewardship of the Neutral Nation, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

We also honour the contributions of Indigenous warriors, particularly Major John Norton (Teyoninhokarawen) and Joseph Brant (Ahyouwa’ehs), who led Six Nations forces alongside the Lincoln Militia at the Battle of Queenston Heights. Their bravery helped secure Canada’s future as a sovereign nation.
